This site may have been strictly a passive system and then converted to a hybrid system that consisted of a hydrated lime silo followed by settling ponds and wetlands. An Active Chemical Water Treatment plant has since replaced the original treatment system and is operated by PA DEP that includes 2 sets of clarifiers, 2 mix tanks, 2 aeration tanks, large filter press, sludge holding tanks, and a lime silo
